A 22-year-old hacker from Canada was sentenced to one year in prison for stealing $794,000 in encryption assets.
Odaily News Canadian cybercriminal Cameron Albert Redman has been sentenced to one year in prison for perpetrating social media account hijacking scams. Redman and his accomplices hacked into a digital artist's X account during 2022, posting fake lottery activity links to lure users into authorizing transactions. Victims unknowingly granted the attackers access to their Wallet, resulting in the theft of their NFTs and Crypto Assets. According to the U.S. Department of Justice, the scam caused losses for over 200 victims within days, with illegal profits amounting to $794,000. (Decrypt)
