Wyoming, USA, allows insurance companies to invest in Bitcoin, effective July 1.
Recently, Wyoming in the United States revised its insurance regulations, opening the door for domestic insurance companies to invest in digital assets such as Bitcoin. This amendment was passed by the state legislature last month and will officially take effect on July 1.
A certain law firm commented that this amendment is the first of its kind in similar regulations in the United States, but it remains to be seen whether insurance companies will actually utilize this law.
It is worth mentioning that Wyoming has always been one of the states with a friendly attitude towards cryptocurrencies and blockchain. In the past two years, the state has successively passed a series of related laws, including treating cryptocurrencies as currency and providing favorable tax treatment for cryptocurrencies. These initiatives further consolidate Wyoming's leading position in the digital asset field.
