Concordium launches ZK privacy application to address new age verification regulations for adult content in the UK
【Coin World】The Blockchain protocol Concordium has launched a mobile age verification application based on zk-SNARKs, supporting iOS and Android systems. Users can prove attributes such as age (e.g., nationality, date of birth) to third-party services after paying $0.01 to create an encrypted digital identity, while actual information will not be disclosed to the service provider.
The launch of the application coincides with the new regulations in the UK that mandate age verification for accessing adult content, which has sparked privacy protection controversies. The UK communications regulator (Ofcom) guidelines allow for reusable digital identity wallet solutions that meet data protection standards, and Concordium has stated that it is in discussions with Ofcom regarding compliance.
A certain technology company's wallet has integrated zk-SNARKs technology for age verification in April, showing that this technology is gradually penetrating non-encryption scenarios.
